The recovery of an unidentified young man's body from the Bagjola canal in Newtown on Tuesday morning has sparked widespread tension and excitement in the locality. Locals first spotted the body floating in the water early in the day when a local woman went near the canal and noticed it. She immediately alerted other residents, who then gathered at the spot and informed the local law enforcement authorities about the situation.
Upon receiving the information, officials from the Newtown police station arrived at the scene to manage the crowd and retrieve the body from the canal. Local resident Prosenjit Das confirmed that a crowd quickly gathered as the news spread before the police took custody of the body. Local residents stated that they could not recognize the deceased youth and claimed that he was not a resident of the surrounding neighborhood.
